Absolute Geotechnics was first formed in 2016 (as Absolute Geotechnics Pty Ltd) by Rob Thomas, an engineering geologist and chartered geotechnical engineer. Before starting AG, Rob ran the mining geotechnical team of an international geotechnical consultancy, based in Perth, and worked on projects from all over the world.
Rob has over 15 years experience as a geotechnical consultant undertaking, managing and delivering geotechnical assessments across mining and infrastructure disciplines. This has included site-based audits and forensic evaluation, planning and managing field investigations, undertaking geotechnical design from scoping to feasibility level, and conducting independent technical reviews and due diligence projects for major mining companies and international financial institutions.
